INCIDENT: PC 664/187: ATTEMPTED MURDER
LOCATION: 24000 Block of US Hwy 18, Apple Valley
SUSPECT: Dylan Blasczak, 27-years-old, resident of Apple Valley
SUMMARY:
On Thursday, May 12, 2022, at 3:52pm, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department received a 911 call regarding a shooting in the 24000 block of US Hwy 18 in Apple Valley. According to the caller, an adult male had been shot in the hand and neck.
When deputies arrived at the residence, they located the male victim with gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to an area hospital. Deputies, with the assistance of San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Departments Aviation Division (40King), immediately started making PA announcements for the suspect, identified as Dylan Blasczak, to exit his residence. Blasczak exited his residence with an unknown object in his hands and ran east.
40King was able to see Blasczak was holding a gun. During the foot pursuit, Blasczak started firing multiple rounds at both 40King and at deputies on the ground. Blasczak ran across US Hwy 18 and attempted to hide in bushes. At approximately 4:27pm, Blasczak was taken into custody while still in possession of the firearm. A search warrant was served at his residence where additional evidence was recovered.
The victim remains hospitalized, his current condition is not known at the time of this release.
Dylan Blasczak was booked at High Desert Detention Center. He is currently being held in lieu of $1,000,000 bail.
