South Brunswick Mayor Charlie Carley thanked our EMS community for all they do as part of the National EMS week celebration on Monday. “This is National EMS week and we are so thankful to all the members of the Kendall Park First Aid and Rescue Squad, Monmouth Junction First Aid Squad, and South Brunswick EMS for all they do every day. These men and women answer the call twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Their work saves lives and makes a difference every day. Our EMS answered 4,600 medical calls last year. Their tireless efforts and dedication have made us the great community we are and we are forever grateful,” said Mayor Carley.
As part of the weeklong celebration, several township schools had students write letters of thanks to the EMS members. Greenbrook Elementary, Monmouth Junction Elementary, Noor UL Iman School, and St. Augustine of Canterbury School all gave thank you letters.
National EMS Week was established in 1974 by President Gerald Ford to celebrate EMS practitioners and the important work they do. This year EMS week is celebrated May 15-21, 2022.
