Below is an update on COVID-19 from Mayor Ravi S. Bhalla:
The Hoboken Health Department reports the following COVID-19 cases:
April 30: 46
May 1: 5
May 2: 5
May 3: 26
May 4: 27
May 5: 36
May 6: 35
May 7: 20
May 8: 11
May 9: 19
May 10: 30
May 11: 26
May 12: 38
May 13: 54
There have been a total of 11,232 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Hoboken. Unfortunately, a 63-year-old male resident who contracted COVID-19 passed away. While this individual passed away in January, their death was just provided by the State. My thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones. Hoboken has had a total of 65 fatalities.
Hoboken University Medical Center is currently treating four individuals with COVID-19. Two of these patients are Hoboken residents who each received their booster dose.
Update from the Hoboken Health Department
- Cases are high, especially in schools and childcare centers.
- Cases are associated with community widespread in schools, daycare, social gatherings, travel, and work.
- Commonly observed symptoms are a sore throat, fever, body aches, and congestion.
- Our regional COVID Activity Level Index (CALI) score is currently “High Risk.”

Vaccination rate update
Below is the vaccination rate for Hoboken:
All ages: 95% (first dose)
12 and over: 99% (first dose)
18 and over: 96% (first dose)
30 and over: nearly 100% (first dose)
65 and over: nearly 100% (first dose)
All ages: 82% (second dose)
12 and over: 85% (second dose)
18 and over: 82% (second dose)
30 and over: 98% (second dose)
65 and over: nearly 100% (second dose)
The state has not provided municipalities with booster numbers.
Clinic Schedule
The City offers COVID-19 testing at City clinics through a partnership with Medicine Man Pharmacy & Compounding. To check weekly testing clinic schedules, go to www.hobokennj.gov/testing. The City will not host pediatric vaccine and booster clinics this week. Please contact your local pharmacy to get your COVID-19 vaccine or booster.

At-home testing
At-home rapid tests are available through the federal government.
Every home in the U.S. is eligible to order free at-home COVID-19 antigen tests through the US Postal Service. Orders will usually ship in 7-12 days. There is a limit of one order of four tests per residential address.
