Suspect in Armed Robbery Located in a Stolen Vehicle and Taken into Custody

LOCATION: 21000 State Hwy 18 in the Town of Apple Valley
SUSPECT(S): Rocksan Nunez, a 26-year-old resident of Victorville
VICTIM(S): Confidential Adult Male
SUMMARY: On Sunday, May 15, 2022, at 5:17 p.m., deputies from the Apple Valley Police Department were dispatched to the 21000 block of State Hwy 18 for a report of an armed robbery.
The victim confronted the two subjects as they were taking property from the yard. One of the subjects pointed a handgun and robbed the victim of his wallet. Both subjects fled the location prior to deputies arriving.
On Monday, May 16, 2022, at approximately 12:07 a.m., deputies from the Victorville Police Department located the vehicle used during the robbery and conducted a felony traffic stop. The driver, Rocksan Nunez, was identified as one of the suspects in the robbery. During a vehicle search, deputies recovered the stolen property and the gun used in the robbery. A records check revealed the gun and the vehicle were stolen.
Nunez was booked into the High Desert Detention Center for armed robbery and is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail.
