#INGLEWOODPD and Family Members Seeking Public's Assistance

On the evening of Monday, October 18, 2021, shortly before midnight, 18-year old Daina Monroe was seated in a parked vehicle outside of her mother’s home in the 100-block of North Inglewood Avenue in the City of Inglewood. Also inside the car were Daina’s older sister and two of their friends. A vehicle pulled up and numerous shots were fired into the car where the youths were seated. The vehicle then fled from the scene. Daina’s sister and companions saw that she had been struck by gunfire and drove to the nearest hospital where unfortunately Daina’s succumbed to her injuries. No other occupants of the vehicle were injured.

The Inglewood Police Department is seeking assistance from members of the public to help identify and apprehend the persons responsible for the murder of Daina Monroe. To assist the Police Department in that effort, the Inglewood City Council is offering a reward of twenty-five thousand ($25,000) dollars for information leading to the identification, apprehension and conviction of those responsible for this crime.

Additionally, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors has authorized a separate reward in the amount of twenty thousand ($20,000) dollars as a further incentive for persons with information in this case to come forward.
