On Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at approximately 6:17 pm, the suspect entered a local business in the 400 block of North Azusa Avenue and approached the victim (6-year-old girl) who was momentarily standing alone. The suspect attempted to grab the victim’s hand and walk outside. However, the suspect’s attempt was unsuccessful and he left the location.
Detectives are continuing to investigate this incident and are seeking additional witnesses that were at the location during the above date and time. The suspect, 38 year-old, Christopher Kline, resident of Covina, was arrested and booked for attempted kidnapping. He has a bail amount of $1,000,000. Due to the integrity of the investigation, further information regarding the suspect will not be released at this time. Only a still frame image of what the suspect was wearing at the time of the attempted kidnapping will be made available.
