Robbery / Warrant Arrest:
 
On May 20^th, 2022, at approximately 1:34 pm, officers responded to the report of a subject trying to steal the tip jar at Mr. Pickles – 10810 San Pablo Avenue.  The manager struggled with the subject and was able to recover the tip jar.  The subject then grabbed a knife and threatened staff.  The employees fled to the kitchen and the subject left with property belonging to the business.  Responding officers located the subject and he was safely taken into custody.  The suspect, a 39-year-old, Oakland man was arrested on robbery charges and a parole violation warrant.  He was booked into the Contra Costa County jail.        
 
Kidnapping and Robbery
 
On May 20^th, 2022, at approximately 10:41 pm, officers responded to the report of shots fired in the 6600 block of Blake Street.  Upon arrival, a woman was located lying in the street.  She reported that she had been forced into a vehicle by three male subjects armed with firearms near the Del Norte BART station.  She had been pistol whipped by the suspects and her property stolen. During the robbery, a shot was reported being fired by one of the suspects.  The victim was forced out of the vehicle in the 6600 block of Blake Street.  The suspect vehicle was described as a green four-door sedan.  The victim was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.  Residents in the 1700 block of Lexington Avenue are requested to check their video cameras for footage of the suspect vehicle around the time of the incident.   Video can be submitted via https://elcerritopdca.evidence.com/axon/citizen/public/2022-995.         
 
The Police Department has no further information to release at this time, as the investigation is ongoing.
