The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... Southeastern McDowell County in western North Carolina... Southwestern Burke County in western North Carolina...

* Until 1100 PM EDT.

* At 1015 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 5 miles southeast of Marion, moving north at 10 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Minor hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to trees and power lines.

* Locations impacted include... Marion, Lake James State Park, Lake James, Nebo, Sugar Hill, Glenwood, Fero, Dysartsville, Glen Alpine and Woodlawn.

* AFFECTED AREAS: BURKE, NC ... MCDOWELL, NC
