Sheriff Richard J Behnke reports, on 05/22/2022 at approximately 0941 hours, his office responded to a two-vehicle injury crash at the intersection of Dailey Rd. and Pine Lake St., Jefferson Township, Cass County, Michigan.   

Initial investigation showed, 61-year-old, Edwardsburg resident, Kathleen Pence, was traveling northbound on Dailey Rd. 71-year-old, Cassopolis resident, Elizabeth Csakany, was traveling east on Pine Lake St. Csakany came to a stop on Pine Lake St., but failed to yield upon entering Dailey Rd., causing her vehicle to collide into Pence’s vehicle.   

Pride Care Ambulance transported Pence to Elkhart General Hospital, for non-life threatening injuries. Alcohol/ drugs do not appear to be a factor and seatbelts were worn at the time of the crash. This crash remains under investigation.
