Flood Advisory until 06:45AM

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of southeast Louisiana and southern Mississippi, including the following counties and parishes, in southeast Louisiana, Orleans and St. Tammany. In southern Mississippi, Hancock and Harrison.

* WHEN...Until 645 AM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Overflowing poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 556 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing in the advisory area. Between 1.5 and 5.5 inches of rain have fallen from thunderstorms overnight since midnight. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain could result in continued minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... New Orleans, Slidell, Bay St. Louis, Waveland, Diamondhead, Pearl River, Stennis Space Center, Pearlington, Lacombe, Kiln, Shoreline Park and Slidell Airport. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
