Gloucester Township Police's Patrolman Stephen Centrone Final Radio Call and Salute 5-23-2022
Effective Monday, May 23, 2022 Patrolman Steve Centrone, badge number 274, will retire after serving 8 years as a Law Enforcement Officer with the Gloucester Township Police Department.
Patrolman Centrone began his police service to our community in 2010 as a Telecommunicator and Special Law Enforcement Officer Class 1 with the Gloucester Township Police Department, before being hired as a full time police officer with the Camden County Police Department from July 1, 2014 to January 1, 2016. In January of 2016 Ptl. Centrone transferred to the Gloucester Township Police Department were he has served for the last 8 years. Throughout his career, Ptl. Centrone has worked as a K-9 handler and has been part of the Incident Management Team.
On May 7, 2021 Ptl. Centrone suffered a serious shoulder injury while attempting to arrest a subject during an active domestic violence incident. Ptl. Centrone had shoulder surgery, but his injury led to his retirement.
Also Effective May 23, 2020 K-9 Zeus will retire after serving 4 years with the Gloucester Township Police Department from 2018 to 2022.
