05-29-2022 REMINDER - MEMORIAL DAY PARADE & SERVICE - MAY 30
On Monday, May 30, at 10:00 am sharp, the Borough of Waldwick will hold its Annual Memorial Day Parade & Service starting at MacKay Avenue and Franklin Turnpike and concluding at the Police Officer Christopher Goodell Public Safety Complex, 15 E. Prospect Street for a Service hosted by the Walter Nightengale American Legion Post 57 and VFW Roy A. Freitag Memorial Post 1049. The service will feature a wreath laying and rifle salute, and music by the Waldwick High School Band including Taps by WHS Band trumpeters. PARTICIPANTS SHOULD START LINING UP ON MACKAY AVENUE STARTING AT 9:30 AM.
Spectators are encouraged to gather along the parade route by 9:45 am in support of this time-honored tradition when families, neighbors and friends come together to pay tribute to those soldiers who gave the ultimate sacrifice of their life for the ideals of our country and the pursuit of freedom.
The parade will feature the Scouts, Waldwick Police, Waldwick Fire Department, Waldwick Ambulance Corps, the Mayor and Council, the Board of Education, the Community Band of Waldwick, local groups and sports teams, and members of the Waldwick High School Band.
Following the service, the public is invited back to the American Legion Post 57 for hot dogs and refreshments.
