* At 512 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicate thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 3 and 4 inches of rain has fallen over the past several hours and additional amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible this evening. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in localized areas. Area streams and rivers are rising with the Chattooga and Tallulah rivers continuing toward flood stage. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
