TRAFFIC ADVISORY - Today's Heavy Rain Predicted May Produce Flooding
Newark Public Safety Director Brian A. O’Hara reports that due to anticipated heavy rainfall today, many streets may be flooded and should be avoided.
A risk of severe thunderstorms with damaging wind gusts are predicted this afternoon into this evening. Today’s expected storms may produce heavy downpours.
The listed locations should be avoided due to flooding conditions or the potential for flooding.
The Department of Public Safety is coordinating responses to burglar alarms, flooding conditions and other weather-related incidents through the combined use of Police, Fire and Office of Emergency Management Personnel. Special attention should be given to unsecured outdoor furniture, awnings, refuse and building materials.
