San Leandro Police Make Arrest in March Homicide

On Friday, March 25th, around 11:38 pm, San Leandro police officers responded to the area of Cunha’s Cocktails, located at 155 Pelton Center Way, regarding a shooting. Arriving officers located a victim outside of the bar, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the torso. Officers provided emergency life-saving measures until the victim was transported to a local hospital. Unfortunately, the victim succumbed to his injuries.
 
Preliminary information showed the shooting was preceded by an altercation inside the bar. The involved parties exited the bar onto Parrott Street where the conflict continued and culminated in the shooting.  San Leandro police detectives responded to assume the investigation.
 
This homicide was investigated by San Leandro Police Department's Senior Detective, Detective Tim Perry.  Detective Perry, along with the assistance of additional detectives, our Precision Policing Crime Analyst, and regional law enforcement partners, began to investigate this shooting immediately.
 
Over the course of the next two months, detectives identified the shooting suspect as Louis Ray Woods III during this investigation.  They also identified Jennifer Glaze as an accessory to this homicide.  
 
On May 24th,  Louis Ray Woods and Jennifer Glaze were arrested by the San Leandro Police Department.  Louis Ray Woods is a 33-year-old male from Oakland.  Jennifer Glaze is a 30-year-old female from Antioch.
 
On May 26th,  this case was charged by the Alameda County District Attorney's Office.
 
"On behalf of the SLPD and City of San Leandro, we would like to offer our condolences to the victim's family and friends of this senseless shooting.  We are pleased to have solved this homicide and would like to thank the Antioch Police Department, Oakland Police Department, Alameda County Sheriff's Office, and the Hayward Police Department for their assistance with this investigation," said Lieutenant Matthew Barajas
