Holiday closures

In observance of Memorial Day, municipal offices will be closed on Monday, May 30.

Street cleaning will be suspended on Monday. All other parking regulations will be enforced.

Hop shuttle service will be suspended on Monday, May 30, in recognition of the holiday.

Waste collection and recycling will occur as regularly scheduled.

The City’s COVID-19 testing clinic at 605 Jackson St. will be closed on Monday. For a full clinic schedule, go to www.hobokennj.gov/testing and www.hobokennj.gov/vaccine.

Virtual scoping hearing on the Hudson Tunnel Project

The City of Hoboken will host a virtual Green Acres Public Scoping Hearing on Thursday, June 2, at 7 p.m. to gather public comment on the proposed diversion of Green Acres-encumbered property related to the underground construction at 1600 Park and Cove Park as part of the Hudson Tunnel Project.

No surface work will be undertaken at these parks. However, tunneling activities will occur approximately 90 feet below the surface in this area. Minor vibrations from the tunnel boring machine may be discernible for a few days as the tunnel boring machine passes these parks.

The Hudson Tunnel Project aims to preserve the current functionality of Amtrak’s Northeast Corridor (NEC) service and NJ TRANSIT’s commuter rail service between New Jersey and Pennsylvania Station New York (PSNY) by repairing the deteriorating North River Tunnel; and to strengthen the NEC’s resiliency to support reliable service by providing redundant capability under the Hudson River for Amtrak and NJ TRANSIT NEC trains between New Jersey and the existing PSNY.

Register for the Hoboken READY meeting

The City will host a virtual public meeting on Tuesday, June 7, at 6 p.m. to discuss the Hoboken READY guidance document. The document will be an addendum to the 2015 Resilient Building Design Guidelines, which currently addresses preparedness for coastal flood events, to also include preparedness solutions for homeowners during intense/severe rainfall events.

On Wednesday, October 13, 2021, the City held a Resilient Buildings Workshop to provide information about how residents can reduce risk to their buildings from flood damage and lower their flood insurance rates. Feedback received during the workshop from the Hoboken community informed the development of the Hoboken READY document.
