Incident Summary:
On May 26, 2022, at 8:11 am, the Petaluma Police Department was called to the mid-block of Webster Street between Hayes Lane and B Street, on report an unknown suspect who walked to the rear of residence and attempted to enter through a rear door. Officers responded, searched the residence, and the surrounding areas but were unable to locate the suspect. At 6:56 pm, the Petaluma Police Department received a second call from a neighbor who observed the suspect walk to the rear of the same residence. The neighbor confronted the suspect who immediately ran, got into a dark gray or silver Toyota sedan, and fled the area.
The Petaluma Police Department had responded to two similar incidents in the area over the past eight days. There is no connection between the suspect and the victim resident. Officers are actively investigating the incidents, attempting to identify the suspect, and providing extra patrol to the neighborhood. The suspect is described as a white male adult between the ages of thirty to forty years old who is approximately six feet tall, with a slight build, and bald head. The associated vehicle is described as a dark gray or silver Toyota sedan. Images of the suspect were captured by residential surveillance cameras and have been attached to this press release.
