On Friday, May 27, 2022 at approximately 2308 hours, the Readington Township Police stopped James Mulligan (49) from Flemington, NJ on Route 202 for Failure to Maintain Lane. While the officer was speaking to Mulligan he smelled a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the drivers breath. Mulligan failed the officer’s field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest for DWI. Mulligan was issued a summons for DWI, Reckless Driving and failure to maintain lane. Mulligan was released pending a future court date. The filing of charges is merely one step in the process. A defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
