Full Notification

Today at about 9am, Martha Carter was located by several of her extended family members, who were assisting with the Search and Rescue operation. Carter’s family members located her lying face down in some brush just east of the east curbline in the 1200 block of Harbor Drive. Family members immediately contacted NCPD to report her location. Unfortunately Carter was unresponsive and showed obvious signs of death. Carter was confirmed deceased by Police and Fire personnel on scene.
 
The Medical Examiner’s office responded to the scene and conducted their investigation. Extended Family members were on scene during the course of the investigation. Immediate family members were at their residence with the TIPs advocate and were later contacted by NCPD detectives and the Medical Examiner.
