Full Notification

 Sheriff Richard J. Behnke reports that his office responded to a Two-vehicle injury crash on 05/31/2022 at approximately 1917 hours. This crash occurred at the intersection of Redfield St. and Gumwood Rd., Milton Township, Cass County, Michigan.  
 
Deputies responded to a crash involving two vehicles, one of which was a motorcycle. Initial investigation showed that 36yr old Osceola, Indiana resident, Brian Sokoloski, was traveling east bound on Redfield St. Sokoloski attempted to pass a vehicle that was turning south bound on Gumwood Rd.  Sokoloski struck the vehicle, driven by 48yr old Portage Indiana residence, Anthony Tokarski, who was attempting to turn west off Gumwood Rd and onto Redfield St. Sokoloski was transported to South Bend Memorial by SMCAS Ambulance for injuries sustained during the traffic crash. A helmet was not worn at the time of the crash. This crash remains under investigation. 
 
Assisting agencies on scene were SMCAS Ambulance, Niles Township Fire Department, Edwardsburg Fire Department, and Michigan State Police.
