Deputies Conduct Traffic Stop in Needles and Recover a Loaded Firearm; Suspect Taken into Custody

INCIDENT: Possession of a Loaded Firearm
LOCATION: North K Street and Chestnut Street, Needles, CA
SUSPECT(S): Luis Gonzalez, 40-years-old, Resident of Bullhead City, AZ
VICTIM(S): State of California
SUMMARY: On Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at approximately 3:34 p.m., deputies from the Colorado River Station / Needles Police Department conducted a traffic stop near North K Street and Chestnut Street in the city of Needles. Contact was made with the driver, Luis Gonzales, a resident of Bullhead City, AZ.
During the course of the investigation, deputies recovered a loaded firearm within the vehicle and arrested Gonzales for PC25850(A), Possession of a Loaded Firearm. During a records check, Gonzales was also found to have an outstanding failure to appear warrant out of Barstow for CVC12500(A), Driving without a License and CVC22348(B), Driving over 100 MPH.
Gonzales was transported to the Colorado River Station jail for booking. Gonzales remains in the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department with a combined bail amount of $30,000, pending a court hearing.
