The investigation revealed that Brian Keith Brown had went to the residence of April Stacey, on May 27^th to ask for a ride to run an errand. Brown knocked on the back door, and a shot was fired through the back door, striking Brown in the abdomen. Brown advised Officers before being transported that he and Stacey are friends.
 
April Lanette Stacey, 41, of Forest City was charged with Assault with a deadly Weapon with intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury for the Shooting of Brian Keith Brown, 41, of Bostic. Stacey turned herself in on June 1^st 2022 and is being held on a $200,000.00 bond at the Rutherford County Detention Facility.
 
Brian Keith Brown is still hospitalized at this time in serious but stable condition.



On May 27, 2022, at 9:38 AM, the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received a 911 call reporting that someone had been shot on Kelly Road in Forest City. Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to Kelly Road and found a man lying near the road with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Rutherford County EMS transported the injured man to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center where he was taken into surgery.  
 
Detectives with the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office, along with a NCSBI agent, responded to the scene to investigate the shooting. The Rutherford County District Attorney’s Office is also working in conjunction with detectives on this shooting, and more information will be provided at a later date as the investigation continues.
