Fire Weather Watch until 09:00PM Thursday

The National Weather Service in Juneau has issued a Fire Weather Watch, which is in effect from Thursday morning through Thursday evening.

* AFFECTED AREA...Fire weather zones 021, 022, and 025.

* WIND...May reach speeds up to 15 mph

* HUMIDITY...Relative humidity will fall into the low 20s and teens with temperatures in the mid 70s and 80s on Thursday.

* IMPACTS...any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

* AFFECTED AREAS: EASTERN CHICHAGOF ISLAND ... SALISBURY SOUND TO CAPE FAIRWEATHER COASTAL AREA ... JUNEAU BOROUGH AND NORTHERN ADMIRALTY ISLAND

A watch means conditions are favorable for the development of severe fire weather conditions in and close to the watch area. Please advise the appropriate officials and fire crews in the field of this fire weather watch. This statement will be updated by 630AM Thursday AKDT or sooner if conditions warrant.
