Neighborhood Altercation Results in Homicide Investigation
On May 31st, around 11am, officers responded to a local hospital regarding a victim who arrived with a stab wound. Officers learned of a possible crime scene in the 1200 block of Willet Court. Upon arriving, officers found an adult male unresponsive in the garage. Lifesaving efforts were attempted, but tragically the individual was pronounced dead. The deceased individual has been identified as 56-year-old Fairfield resident Sao Loa.
Detectives worked throughout the day and gathered evidence from the scene, surveillance footage, and statements from those involved. Last night detectives placed two individuals under arrest associated with the altercation. 34-year-old Fairfield Resident Sabrina Jo Banks was arrested for accessary to murder. Upon 41-year-old Fairfield resident Christopher John Almendarez being cleared from the hospital for his injuries he was arrested for murder. Both were booked into the county jail late last night.
While this incident is extremely unfortunate, we do know that it was not random and those involved knew each other. There are no outstanding suspects in the case and no known threat to the community.
Further details related to the altercation, weapons used, injuries to the victim or booking photos of those arrested will not be released. If you have information about the events from yesterday and have not talked with a detective, please contact the Investigations Division at (707) 428-7600.
