Flood Advisory until 11:00PM Wednesday

* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of northeast New Jersey and southeast New York, including the following counties, in northeast New Jersey, Bergen and Passaic. In southeast New York, Rockland.

* WHEN...Until 1100 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 936 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Paterson, Passaic, Wayne, Paramus, Ridgewood, Ramsey, Ringwood, Pompton Lakes, Suffern, Tappan, Hawthorne, Pearl River, Oradell, Fair Lawn, Garfield, Lodi, Elmwood Park, Wyckoff, New Milford and Saddle Brook. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Instructions:

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
