Case:               932206055
Suspect:          Lizette Hernandez, 40-year-old, Resident of San Bernardino

Information:

The Rialto Police Department is continually making strides toward enhancing the safety and security of the residents and businesses within the City of Rialto, through the use of technology. Recently, the department partnered with Fusus, a technology platform, which allows law enforcement to access business surveillance cameras to solve crimes. Businesses that utilize Fusus are added to the Fusus intelligence ecosystem, which allows for law enforcement to request historical surveillance remotely through the use of cloud-based storage. Even more importantly, officers responding to a location can access video surveillance in real-time, avoiding the delay in information gathering, which sometimes exists when in-progress crimes are reported to Emergency Dispatch Centers. By partnering with Fusus, officers are able to respond more efficiently and safely to in-progress emergencies.

On Friday, May 27, 2022, at 1:41 p.m. the Rialto Police Department Communications Center received a report that several subjects were using stolen credit cards to purchase gasoline at a Rialto business. The business partnered with Rialto Police in the use of Fusus. Responding officers were able to remotely access the video in real-time and identify a suspect vehicle as it was leaving the parking lot. Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop; however, the driver, later identified as 40-year-old Lizeth Hernandez, failed to stop and attempted to evade officers.

Hernandez subsequently drove her vehicle onto a large embankment near the 210 Freeway and Riverside Ave., ultimately disabling her vehicle. Hernandez was taken into custody without further incident.
Through investigation, it was discovered that the vehicle was previously reported stolen from the City of Victorville. Hernandez was arrested and booked into the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga, CA for PC 496d (a) – Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, VC 2800.1 – Evading, and an outstanding arrest warrant for H&S 11379 (A) – Transportation of Narcotics, with a bail amount of $150,000.

As the Fusus network grows within the City of Rialto, so will the Rialto Police Department’s ability to effectively solve crime and respond to critical incidents with accurate information vital to keeping the community safe. If you are a resident or business owner within the City of Rialto and are interested in becoming a part of the Fusus information network please email Officer Mike Martinez at [email protected] for more information.
