Incident Summary

On June 3, 2022, the Petaluma Police Department responded to a disturbance call for service at the Roaring Donkey (146 Kentucky Street). Roaring Donkey staff reported one of the patrons threatened the staff and was reported as making a statement that he was going to shoot up the establishment. The involved subject was described as a Hispanic male adult with tattoos wearing a white t-shirt. The subject left the area before police arrived, and none of the staff observed, noticed, or saw the subject with a firearm.

Nevertheless, the Petaluma Police Department and the Roaring Donkey considered the threat credible. To ensure the safety of its patrons, management at several local bars decided to close (early) for the evening. The Petaluma Police Department will continue to conduct extra patrols in the downtown area.

The investigation is ongoing, and additional details will be released if they become available. Anyone with information regarding the incident is encouraged to contact the Petaluma Police Department at (707)778-4372.
