..FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 945 AM CDT THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of Central Kansas, including the following
counties, Chase, Marion, McPherson and Saline.

* WHEN...Until 945 AM CDT Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Significant rises in streams, creeks, and rivers has
occurred due to heavy rainfall Saturday morning. Various low-water
crossings are likely inundated with water and may not be passable.
Flooding of other low-lying and flood prone areas is likely.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1235 AM CDT, local law enforcement reported water over
Highway 4 just south of Gypsum in southeast Saline county.
The flooding is likely from Gypsum creek. Other localized
areas of flooding are likely across portions of McPherson,
Marion, and Chase counties, where 1 to 3 inches of rain fell
Saturday morning.
- Additional pockets of heavy rainfall are possible overnight,
which will only aggravate ongoing flooding concerns.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two
feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't
drown.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
