INCIDENT: PC 187 - Murder
LOCATION: 11300 Block of Bentley Court, Adelanto
SUSPECT(S): Angel Gutierrez, 25-years-old, Resident of Adelanto
VICTIM(S): Estelle Romero, 73-years-old, Deceased
SUMMARY: On Monday, May 16, 2022, at about 4:22 p.m., deputies from the Victor Valley Station responded to a call in the 11300 block of Bentley Court, for a report of an assault in progress. When deputies arrived, they located a 73-year-old female, identified as Estelle Romero, suffering from multiple injuries. Romero was airlifted to a hospital and was admitted for medical care.
Deputies identified Angel Gutierrez as the suspect who caused Romero’s injuries. Gutierrez was arrested for attempted murder and booked at the West Valley Detention Center.
On June 2, 2022, at about 2:30 a.m., while Romero remained hospitalized, her medical condition worsened and she was pronounced deceased. Investigators from the Specialized Investigation Division – Homicide Detail responded to the hospital and assumed the investigation.
Gutierrez’ charges were amended to PC 187- Murder and he remains in custody on $1,000,000 bail.
