  COTTONWOOD RIVER NEAR FLORENCE AFFECTING MARION COUNTY.

  COTTONWOOD RIVER AT COTTONWOOD FALLS AFFECTING CHASE COUNTY.

  COTTONWOOD RIVER NEAR PLYMOUTH AFFECTING LYON AND CHASE COUNTIES.

FOR THE COTTONWOOD RIVER...INCLUDING FLORENCE, COTTONWOOD FALLS, 
PLYMOUTH...MODERATE FLOODING IS FORECAST.

* WHAT...MINOR FLOODING IS OCCURRING AND MINOR FLOODING IS FORECAST.

* WHERE...COTTONWOOD RIVER NEAR FLORENCE.

* WHEN...UNTIL EARLY TUESDAY MORNING.

* IMPACTS...AT 24.0 FEET, OUTSIDE THE LEVEE SYSTEM IN SOUTHEAST FLORENCE, FLOOD WATERS FLOW ACROSS PARK AVE ROAD AND REACH THE FOUNDATION OF A RESIDENTIAL HOME. NORTHWEST OF FLORENCE, THE BRIDGE ON 140TH ROAD AND 1/2 MILE WEST OF HIGHWAY 77 FLOODS.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - AT 7:15 PM CDT SUNDAY THE STAGE WAS 22.2 FEET.
  - FORECAST...THE RIVER IS EXPECTED TO RISE TO A CREST OF 24.3 FEET TOMORROW MORNING. IT WILL THEN FALL BELOW FLOOD STAGE TOMORROW AFTERNOON.
  - FLOOD STAGE IS 22.0 FEET.

Instructions:

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

MOTORISTS SHOULD NOT ATTEMPT TO DRIVE AROUND BARRICADES OR DRIVE
CARS THROUGH FLOODED AREAS.

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODING.

DO NOT DRIVE INTO FLOODED AREAS OR GO AROUND BARRICADES. NEARLY TWO
FEET OF WATER WILL CARRY MOST VEHICLES AWAY. TURN AROUND, DON'T
DROWN.
