Flood Warning until 04:45PM Monday
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...A portion of South Central Kansas, including the following counties, Harper and Sumner.
* WHEN...Until 445 PM CDT Monday.
* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1040 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to slow moving thunderstorms. Flooding is expected to begin shortly in the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in the warned area overnight. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Wellington, Mulvane, Anthony, Belle Plaine, Harper, Conway Springs, Caldwell, Oxford, Attica, Argonia, South Haven, Geuda Springs, Mayfield, Milan, Hunnewell, Bluff City, Danville, Waldron, Freeport and Perth.
* AFFECTED AREAS: HARPER, KS ... SUMNER, KS
Instructions:
Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
