Fillmore Public Awareness / Stolen Vehicles
Nature of Incident: | Public Awareness / Stolen Vehicles
Location: | City of Fillmore
Date & Time: | April - June of 2022
Unit(s) Responsible: | Fillmore Patrol Services and Fillmore Detective Bureau
Narrative: |
||
Over the last several months, there has been an increase in stolen vehicles throughout the City of Fillmore. The make and model of these stolen vehicles have varied; however, a common theme is that many of the vehicles were unlocked with the keys left inside. This makes it easy for a suspect to steal a vehicle. The Fillmore Police Department is asking residents to be diligent and to make sure all spare keys to their vehicles are accounted for and not left in the vehicle, this includes any wallet keys or hide-a-key. The Fillmore Police Department encourages residents to report suspicious people and vehicles, and to promptly report any crime they come across by calling 911 or the below listed Fillmore station detectives. The reporting party may remain anonymous. The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank members of the public for their on-going support in providing information to assist our agency in solving crimes. We are better at what we do because of our community partnerships. The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office has established a secure database to log information about who has security systems. If you would like to register your system and allow authorities to contact you, should a crime occur in/or near where your cameras are installed we ask that you email the Fillmore Police Department at [email protected]. |
