Felony Suspect Arrested
On June 6, 2022, at approximately 0630 hours, Simi Valley Police Department officers responded to assist a Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District Park Ranger who was contacting a subject at 5005 E. Los Angeles Avenue (Rancho Santa Susana park) regarding an indecent exposure. Prior to the arrival of SVPD officers, the subject (identified as Leonard Delarosa (Simi Valley Resident) fled from the Park Ranger. Prior to fleeing from the Park Ranger, the Park Ranger located "brass knuckles" on Delarosa. SVPD Officers established a perimeter in the area but were unable to locate him. A short time later, residents in the area of the 4600 Block of Cochran Street contacted SVPD and reported a subject, matching Delarosa's description, in the backyards and going over fences. SVPD Officers resonded to the area and located Delarosa in the parking lot of 5165 E Cochran St. Delarosa ran from the officers but was quickly detained. While detaining Delarosa, he was injured and was transported to a local medical facility and later admitted for treatment. During the arrest, a SVPD Officer sustained a minor injury and was also treated and released from a local medical facility
