Incident Summary-
On 6/6/2022, at approximately 11:59 p.m., PPD officers responded to the area of Mountain View Ave. and Glendon Way to investigate a report of a suspicious vehicle. An area resident called police to report the vehicle, and its occupant, later identified as Tyler Suit, after watching him go back and forth to the vehicle on a bicycle.
Upon arrival, officers located the vehicle unoccupied. The vehicle had damage to the ignition and steering column, consistent with a stolen vehicle. The vehicle was registered in a different county and officers were unable to reach the registered owner via telephone. Additionally, officers located a gas can and hose next to the vehicle (consistent with items used for syphoning gas). Indicia for Suit was located in the vehicle. A records check revealed that Suit had six warrants out for his arrest, including one felony warrant.
While searching the area, an officer located Suit riding a bicycle (back) towards the vehicle. The officer attempted to detain Suit, but he fled on the bicycle. The officer pursued him on foot while other officers responded to the area. After a short foot pursuit Suit surrendered without incident. He was arrested for his warrants and 148(a)(1)PC (resist/delay arrest). He was later booked at the Sonoma County Jail. After speaking with the registered owner of the vehicle it was determined that it was not stolen.
