The following is a summary of criminal activity in El Cerrito. It does not include all crimes. It also does not include non-criminal events such as missing persons, traffic collisions, non-criminal deaths, non-criminal disputes, nor many other police activities that do not result in arrest.
May 27th
May 28th
Vandalism – 3400 block of Belmont Ave.
An officer reports that sometime within the last few days, an unknown suspect smashed the windows of two parked vehicles.
Robbery – 11545 San Pablo Avenue (Ross);
At 9:15 pm an officer was sent to the report of a theft from the store. The employee told the officer the suspect threatened them, took merchandise, and fled the business.
Stolen Vehicle – 11060 San Pablo Avenue (Harbor Freight);
At 10:14 pm an officer was contacted by the victim who reported their vehicle had been stolen from the parking lot between 7:30 PM and 8:30 pm.
Trespass – 10628 San Pablo Avenue (One Stop Laundry);
At 11:30 pm an officer accepted the citizen’s arrest of someone who was inside the business after it closed and refused to leave when told by the business owner. The subject was issued a citation in the field and released.
May 29th
Recovered Stolen Vehicle – 6500 block of Gladys Ave.
An officer located a 1997 Honda Civic that had been reported stolen to the El Cerrito Police the night before.
Shoplifting – Yaoya-San, 10566 San Pablo Ave.
An officer reports that an unknown suspect entered the business, concealed several packages of meat, and left without paying.
Arson – Kearney Street near Conlon Avenue;
At 9:55 pm officers were dispatched to the area for the report that four small fires had been set in a grass area. The El Cerrito Fire Department determined the fires had been set intentionally.
May 30th
Burglary – 11700 block of San Pablo Avenue;
At 8:18 pm an officer was sent to the report that the victim’s residence had been burglarized in the past several hours.

At 11:41 pm an officer accepted the citizen’s arrest of someone who was inside the business after it closed and refused to leave when told by the business owner. The subject was issued a citation in the field and released.
May 31st
Stolen Vehicle – Key Blvd. near Humboldt Avenue;
At 2:55 am an officer was flagged down by the victim who reported their vehicle had been stolen while it was parked in the area.
