El Cerrito Police Department Press Release: Case #2022-000779

On April 19th, 2022, the El Cerrito Police Department became aware of two students that were attacked in a campus bathroom at the El Cerrito High School. One victim was punched and kicked several times in the head and body while on the ground. The victim was also drugged around the bathroom by her hair amongst a crowd of onlookers. One of the suspects was identified as a current student at El Cerrito High School while the second suspect was determined to be an adult related to the juvenile suspect. Detectives identified the second suspect as Liliana Gonzalez-Lopez, a 20-year-old Richmond woman who was not a student at the school, and a warrant for her arrest was obtained.  Gonzalez-Lopez surrendered herself on June 6th, 2022, at the El Cerrito Police Department.  The Contra Costa County District Attorney’s office subsequently filed felony assault charges against Gonzalez-Lopez.
