Narrative:
On 06/07/2022, at approximately 8:40 PM, an on-duty Thousand Oaks patrol deputy stopped for a male who appeared to have collapsed within a marked crosswalk located on Thousand Oaks Boulevard, just west of Clay Court.  Further investigation revealed that the male pedestrian was with a group of individuals who were waiting to cross Thousand Oaks Boulevard.  The pedestrian started to cross the roadway when he was struck by a white sedan.  Evidence at the scene indicated that the vehicle was traveling eastbound on Thousand Oaks Boulevard, just west of Clay Court.  A witness said the vehicle momentarily stopped just past the crosswalk before fleeing the scene of the accident.  The male was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.  Unfortunately, the male subject later passed away from his injuries.
 
This collision is under investigation by the Thousand Oaks Traffic Bureau.  Anyone who witnessed the collision or has information regarding this collision is encouraged to contact Senior Traffic Investigator Marcos Moreno at 805-947-8289.
