Gloucester Township Police Media Release: Strong Wind Storms This Morning Damages Several Homes on Deer Park Circle in Gloucester Township, New Jersey
On Thursday, June 9, 2022 at approximately 0517 hrs., The Gloucester Township Police Department Communications Center received several 9-1-1 calls by residents that were reporting storm damage to their homes. One resident reported a large tree had fallen over and went through the roof of their residence. Officers arrived and found approximately five residences in the Deer Park Development, located in the Sicklerville section of Gloucester Township, had storm related damage. Officers also observed numerous trees knocked down onto several parked vehicles and some were also blocking the roadway.
GTPD along with fire personal from Lambs Terrace & Pine Hill Fire Departments went door to door to check on the residents and it was quickly determined that there were no injuries. Damage to residences included several trees knocked down onto the roofs, as well as one residence, where a tree fell through the roof and into the living room area of the home. Electric power to the development had also been knocked out.
The Gloucester Township OEM coordinator, as well as a Gloucester Township construction official arrived on scene and determined that the damage to the residences were not structural and that none of the families had to be displaced.
The Gloucester Township Public Works Department cleared a large amount of debris and the roadway was reopened. Electrical power was also quickly restored to the development. The Gloucester Township Office of Emergency Management is making notification to the National Weather Service for the reported storm and related damage.
