Marion Man Charged with Meth Possession 
Deputy Caleb Baliles of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged 49-year-old Phillip Jamie Ward of Marion with Felonious Possession of Methamphetamine. He was given a $10,000 secured bond.
On May 29th Deputy Baliles stopped Ward’s truck on NC 226S for not having any working taillights and an expired tag. Ward had two outstanding arrest warrants and a search of his person turned up methamphetamine.
“Great job by Deputy Baliles initiating this stop and removing more poison from our streets” stated Sheriff Ricky Buchanan.
