Drowning victim recovered
The victim of a drowning in Sheboygan’s harbor has been recovered. At approximately 12:30 Friday afternoon, Sheboygan Police were notified of the discovery. Following recovery of the victim, police were able to confirm the identity as the 26-year-old Sheboygan resident who had been reported missing on May 30th and was believed to have gone into the water off North Pier at that time. While the incident remains under investigation, there is no indication of suspicious or criminal factors and investigators believe the death is the result of accidental circumstances.
Multiple agencies assisted with the recovery of the victim from the harbor, including the Sheboygan County Dive Team, Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department, Sheboygan County Medical Examiner’s Office, Sheboygan Fire Department and U.S. Coast Guard. Identity of the victim is being withheld to allow for notification of the family, and the Sheboygan Police Department shares our deepest sympathy for those grieving the loss.
