Incident Summary
On Sunday, June 12, 2022, at approximately 12:25 am, the Petaluma Police Department received a call about a fire at Steamer Landing Park. Officers responded to the area and observed flames approximately three feet in height spreading to the dry brush near the southeast end of Steamer Landing Park. As the fire spread, two propane tanks caught fire and expelled flames approximately seven feet in the air.
Petaluma Police Officers began evacuating the encampments in danger of the fire as the Petaluma Fire Department contained the fire from spreading. The cause of the fire is under investigation, and anyone with any information is encouraged to call 707-778-4372.
