* WHAT...For the Freeze Warning, sub-freezing temperatures as low as 28 expected. For the Wind Advisory, west winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph expected.
* WHERE...Ruby Mountains and East Humboldt Range.
* WHEN...For the Freeze Warning, from midnight tonight to 8 AM PDT Tuesday. For the Wind Advisory, from 11 AM this morning to 8 PM PDT this evening.
* IMPACTS...Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. A few power outages are possible. Frost and freeze conditions will kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.
* AFFECTED AREAS: RUBY MOUNTAINS AND EAST HUMBOLDT RANGE
Instructions:
Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects. Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above- ground pipes to protect them from freezing.
