During the week of June 6 - June 12, four lives were lost to violence. OPD has investigated 51 homicides year to date, 57 this time last year, down 11%.
For the week, there were 40 instances of gunfire, 49 robberies and 10 carjackings. This year,
OPD officers have recovered 780 firearms.
OPD encourages residents and business owners to consider installing security cameras as well as alarms. These technologies can both deter crime and help solve crimes after they occur.
