Flood Advisory until 10:30PM Monday
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...A portion of northeast Illinois, including the following areas, Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake IL and McHenry.
* WHEN...Until 1030 PM CDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 639 PM CDT, doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Heavy thunderstorms are moving into the Chicago Metro area which are likely to quickly produce minor flooding of poor drainage areas. - Rainfall amounts up to 2 inches are expected within 30-60 minutes with these storms. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Chicago, Elgin, Arlington Heights, Evanston, Schaumburg, Palatine, Skokie, Des Plaines, Mount Prospect, Hoffman Estates, Oak Park, Glenview, Elmhurst, Buffalo Grove, Crystal Lake, Ohare Airport, Streamwood, Carpentersville, Wheeling and Park Ridge. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
