ARRAIGNMENT/BAIL STATUS: Mazur was arraigned in Amsterdam City Court in front of Honorable Judge Lisa W. Lorman and released on own recognizance to appear on a later date.
INCIDENT NARRATIVE: On 05/20/2022 The Amsterdam Police Department took a report of a stolen vehicle which occurred on Romeyn Avenue in the City of Amsterdam. Amsterdam Patrol officers responded to the area and interviewed the victim and witnesses in the area. After clearing the area officers were advised that the vehicle was located in a nearby location. It was determined that the catalytic converter was now missing from the vehicle. A detective responded to the scene and processed the scene. Detectives then received information on a possible suspect of Timothy C. Mazur of Amsterdam. Further evidence was located linking Mazur to the above crimes. Mazur was then located and voluntary interviewed at police headquarters where he admitted to taking part in the above crimes. Mazur was ultimately arrested, processed and arraigned in Amsterdam City Court on the above charges.
While there was probable cause for this arrest, all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
