Village staff is currently supporting clean-up and recovery efforts throughout the community. The high volume of debris is causing delays with clean-up, so please be patient. Our staff is committed and working diligently throughout the neighborhood. High temperatures are forecast for today, so please check on your friends and neighbors, especially those without power.

On Monday, June 13, 2022 the Village of Maple Bluff endured a severe weather event that toppled trees and knocked out power to numerous residents. As of 9:00am this morning Madison Gas & Electric (MG&E) reported nearly 5,000 customers were still without power (300+ in the Village). They have crews working around the clock to restore power, but do not have an estimated timeline for its return. Please be careful while cleaning up storm debris and be mindful of downed power lines. Treat all downed lines as though it were energized and contact MG&E to report outages 608-252-7111.

In addition to yesterday’s severe weather, the National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat warning for our area today and tomorrow. A combination of high temperatures in the middle 90s and humid conditions will lead to heat index values reaching 100 to 105 degrees over most of the area. Please check on your neighbors, especially those who may be vulnerable (elderly, or those with medical needs or young children).

The Village Center Gymnasium (18 Oxford Place, Madison, WI 53704) will be open today, June 14, 2022, to be used as a cooling center from 8:00am until 9:00pm. If you are concerned about a particular Village resident and are unable to check on them, please call the Village Center 608-244-3048 to request assistance. Please be safe today.
