Asking the Public's Help to Identify a Jane Doe from a 1985 Cold Case Murder.
Newark Police Detectives have been working to identify a Jane Doe murder cold case from 1985. Detective Todd Nobbe enlisted the help of the DNA Doe Project, Astrea Forensic Labs, the FBI, and a Forensic Imaging Specialist from the Texas Department of Public Safety in an effort to identify the victim.
With the advancement of technology, Detectives have reopened this case using rootless hair DNA and drawings developed from pictures of her skull in hopes of generating new investigative leads.
KTVU Investigative Reporter Brooks Jarosz shared this story last night and this morning on KTVU Channel 2 News to help Newark spread awareness for this case.
