On Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at approximately 0019 hours, the Readington Township Police Department stopped a vehicle operated by Michael Preston (39) of Lebanon Borough, NJ on Brookview Rd. for failure to maintain lane and failure to maintain lamps.   During the investigation, the officer detected the odor of alcohol coming from Preston. The officer had Preston preform SFST’s, which he failed. Preston was placed under arrest and charged with DUI, failure to maintain lamps, failure to maintain land and failure to change address.  Preston was released to a sober adult pending a future court appearance.  The filing of charges is a merely one step in the process. A defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
