INCIDENT: Fatal Traffic Collision
LOCATION: D Street & Air Expressway Boulevard, Victorville
SUMMARY: On Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at approximately 5:46 a.m., deputies from the Victorville Police Department, along with rescue personnel from Victorville Fire Department and American Medical Response, responded to a three vehicle traffic collision near the intersection of D Street and Air Expressway Boulevard.
Upon arrival, deputies determined a Chrysler Sebring was traveling west on D Street, while a tractor trailer was traveling east on D Street. The Chrysler Sebring crossed into opposing lanes of traffic and collided head on with the tractor trailer. The impact from the collision forced the Chrysler Sebring back into the westbound lane on D Street where it broadsided a Toyota Tacoma.
Deputies with the Victorville Police Department Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T) responded and assumed the investigation. The driver of the Chrysler Sebring and its passenger were pronounced deceased on scene.
The west bound and east bound lanes of D Street remained closed for several hours while deputies conducted their investigation. The roadway was re-opened around 5:00 p.m.
