**THIS IS ONLY A DRILL**

The Novato Fire Protection District, Marin Firewise Communities, Novato Police Department, and the Marin County Sheriff, will be hosting an Evacuation Drill for the Black Point and Pacheco Valle areas on Saturday, June 25^th beginning at 9:30AM. There will be a meeting location for residents who participate at Margaret Todd Senior Center (1560 Hill Rd. Novato).

In anticipation of fire season, all residents should participate in the evacuation drill. For those who are unable to participate on June 25^th, practice on your own by taking a moment to gather their “go bag” and other essential items, then create and exercise your plan by moving to your vehicle, and timing yourself. This drill should only take you a few minutes.

Evacuation Drills:

• Black Point Area – Begins at 9:30AM
• Pacheco Valle Area – Begins at 11:00AM
  • You should receive an automated call to notify you that an Evacuation Drill is now in progress. Have your vehicle face out towards the street.
  • Officers in your area will also utilize “Hi-Low” siren to audibly notify residents of evacuation at approximately 9:35AM (Black Point) or 11:05AM (Pacheco Valle).
  • Please drive to the Hill Gymnasium for check-in. (1560 Hill Road, Novato). (Remember, if you didn’t sign up with Alert Marin, you might not get the call)
  • If you do not receive the automated call by 9:35AM (Black Point) or 11:05AM (Pacheco Valle), please self-evacuate to the Hill Gymnasium parking lot. https://goo.gl/maps/4RjRxgCPxXUJCtkk6 Click on link, add your address as starting point for directions.
  • Although Law Enforcement will be in your area during the drill, remember to lock your doors to your home and leave your pets for the two-hour drill.
  • A QR Code will be utilized to check in upon arrival or a hard copy of the survey will be provided if preferred. This will help with our assessment and accountability of our drill.
  • We expect your drill to take no more than 2 hours.

*Please Note: This is a 2-neighborhood drill. Each neighborhood has a different time frame for the drill. If possible, carpool with neighbors and take the closest exit out of your neighborhood by car. If you will be out of town or away during the drill, continue with your scheduled plans.

Expect some light traffic if you return to home during the evacuation drill. Please do not call 911 to ask questions about the evacuation drill.
